For the second year in a row, the day after Thanksgiving is a magical day at Hobe Sound Farms, it is when the farm turns into a winter wonderland, well a Florida-style winter wonderland! AT 11am the You Pick Christmas Trees Market at Hobe Sound Farms officially opens to the public.
Just like last year, you get to pick your perfect tree, purchase a tree stand, and select your ornaments. The stage is set for the perfect Country Christmas photoshoot, mail your wish list to Santa in our magic mailbox, play yard games, sip hot cocoa, sample holiday treats and and get caught in an occasional “snowstorm.” On the weekends you can stroll through a Holiday Market where local artisans offer their hand-crafted holiday décor for sale!
What is different this year is the selection of trees. Last year, we got a late start. By the time we decided to bring trees to the Farm, there weren’t many farms left with trees and it seemed like NO ONE wanted to work with a new vendor. After thousands of calls MMB Trees in New Hampshire had a few trees left and they were willing to do business with us. Jackson, the owner, warned us that they weren’t the most beautiful, but he would somehow find a truck to get them to us. The trees, well, they reflected how we all felt during a pandemic Christmas season, and we genuinely appreciated the support of our locals who bought them anyway! This year, Jackson had us at the very top of his list, we expanded our Christmas Tree order, and we have a large variety of beautiful Balsam Firs in every size you could ever want or need! Fun facts about our trees: Each one is hand-cut. No machine cutting on Jackson’s farm! He waits until each tree is mature, no early harvesting! He transports our trees frozen packed in fresh pristine New Hampshire snow!
